Today began with a trip to the Medical center to have Peggy's foot checked out. She (and I) put in a bad night caused by the pain in her right foot. As expected, it was diagnosed as gout, ahd she was given three meds to quell hte pain and to 'liquidate' the uric acid buildup. She is now off of Shrimp, tomatoes, Spinach, asparagus.... and wine.

After breakfast, and dessert of meds, we met up with Linda and Leslee and began our day touring Venice. We started with the Vaporetto from Pizzale de Roma and listened to Rick Steve's commentary as we went down hte grand canal. It was a great start to the day, as Peggy was able to sit down on the boat and enjoy the sights and sounds of Venice. After arriving at San Marco around 11AM, we transferred to ACTV 41 for a trip to Murano where we browsed the glass shops lining the canal, WE bought a couple of items for home, as did L&L and had a tasty 'tourista' lunch at a local trattoria. 1 euros for Spaghetti appetizer followed by veal Milanese wth fries and washed down with a 1/4 liter of wine (should read 12 euros, editing on hte tablet is a problem).
We then caught the vaporetto to Burano, the island renowned for it's lace trade and colorful homes along the patchwork of canals.
A light drizzle started as we left Murano and stayed with us as we boated back to Venice from Burano. WE stopped at San Marco for some more souvenirs for friends, and then cauth the #2 boat ( we thought back down the grand canal) which took us down the main outer channel back to teh People mover station at the Tronchetto.
The ship now has 1800 or so fresh travellers who embarked today, and we missed it, WE got back to the ship around 730PM and had a quick bite at the Horizon buffet before coming back to the cabin and getting into our pajamas. An early night tonight, and hopefully a better night sleep. We leave Venice tomorrow at 1pm, but not before I seek out a geo-cache within .3 KM of hte ship!
Glad you're going to search a geocache in Italy!! Have fun doing it - stay safe, and keep your eye on the time... would not be a good story to say you missed the boat because you were looking for a geocache ;-).
