Arrival in Rome

After 21 hours travelling from Seattle via LAX and London Heathrow,we arrived in Rome. Sleep was a rare commodity along the way and Peggy is nursing a really bad cold and sore throat. We hope the meds help and it doesn't worsen before we embark on the Ruby PRincess, We were greeted by 'Sabrina' our private car liaison at FCO airport. She took us to our driver and his late model Mercedes E280 who thought he was a formula one driver as he sped through the streets of Rome to deliver us to the Yes hotel. The hotel is central to all of the major attractions and 300M from the "TERMINI" the transportation hub of the city. Once we get our body clocks adjusted (it is now 3AM local time as I type) we will venture out into the 'Eternal City' armed with Rick Steeves digital book and our trusty GPS. Two other couples from Victoria, Dave and Barb Conrad and Linda and Leslie are also staying here and we will all rendesvous to transfer to the ship in two days.
