At sea, day one

Our driver, Andrea, met us at the hotel and transferred us to Civitchiaveccha to board the Ruby Princess. The six of us, including Dave and Barb, Linda and Leslee and us filled the vehicle with our luggage but Andrea was good at time/space mangement. He (yes Andrea is a he) gave us a running commentary and quiz on Rome and the surrounding area, to insure we left smarter (if not brighter) that when we arrived.

Embarkation was a breeze, literally, as we had 25 knot winds pounding the breakwater, much to Barb's consternation. In any event, stop one was the buffet for lunch and then we unpacked our luggage for the LAST time for 30 days. We met in Skywalkers for drinks and appys before taking in hte welcome aboard show with Samantha,, the cruise director, and the Ruby priincess song and dance troupe headlining and the assistant CD and a good comedian rounding out the show.
We had a late bowl of mushroom soup, shrimp cocktail, and a bun for 'dinner' and back to the cabin.
Tomorrow, we tender into Monte Carlo and will then take the train to a small town, Eze in the hills above the resort town.
