WE will soon cast off the lines and sail op the main canal out of Venice. It has been a great 2 1/2 days here culminating with a driving rainstorm this morning as we decided to re-visit hte Piazzale de Roma for some shopping for wine. The rain was coming down nearly horizonal as umbrellas exploded along the promenade next to the Grand Canal. Peggy wisely wore a disposabe poncho, and I found out my windbreaker is rain resistant, not rain PROOF. We found a 'CO-OP" market and purchase some wine and nibblies for a sea day when the weather improves. WE came back to the ship soaked, but happy for the experience and 'booty'. I had planned to geo-cache, but the storm seemd to make 'Garmie' act up so I abandoned the exercise. WE are currently holding in port waiting for the wind to abate (It just did as we are now moving). aWE have a sea day ahead of us, but I am happy to find John Maxtone-Graham is aboard as guest lecturer on hte history and glory days of ocean liners as well as the Titanic. HE is a great speaker and I enjoyed his talks while we were on the Grand Princess a few years back.

Glad to report that Peggy and her right foot are feeling MUCH better and hte gout seems to have left (thanks to good meds) as quickly as it came on. Next port: Naples.
