Napoli
Actually, this post is mis-named. Although we docked in Napoli and got off the ship around 930, we took the couresy shuttle bus to the Marine terminal where we bought tickets to Capri. WE had to go through a phalanx of guys trying to sell us on THEIR tours (much better much cheaper etc) to get to the ticket booth and paid 34 euros each for a round trip ticket. The boat is a catamaran and holds arond 300 people and takes 50 minutes to transit to the island. On board was ANOTHER tour selling guy, only he was accreditted and had a compelling story, so around 60 of us shelled out 20 euros for a tour of the island on 20 passenger buses. First stop was Ana Capri, home to some 5000 residents and a chairlift to hte top of a 600 Meter tall mountain (10 euros). I opted in, but Peggy, Dave and Barb opted to shop and eat pizza. I enjoyed great vistas of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, and the island of Iscchia as ell as the towns of Capri and Ana Capri before heading back down the hill, passing over local's houses and gardens en route. Later we were taken into the town of Capri (pop 2000) to do a bit of shopping (Lemoncello and tea towels) before catching the 325 boat back to Naples.
